Child health and development – Baby Clinic

Well Baby Clinic
The doctors in the practice carry out the initial 6/8 week check ups at the surgery on a Monday afternoon. This clinic is arranged by the practice when a new baby is born. 8 month and pre-school checks are carried out at the local health centres.

Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) – provided in-house

Minor Surgery The Practice performs minor surgery. Referral to this clinic has to be done by the doctor/nurse.
Dr Joyce carries out joint injections on a Tuesday afternoon- referral by the GP is required for this.
Dr Choudury holds a Minor surgery clinic on Mondays a referral is required for this. Dr Begum is able to insert contraceptive implants and also provides a coil fitting service. You will need to be referred for this service.

Obesity management clinic

Weight Reduction Clinic This clinic is run by the Nurses to support and encourage people who are trying to lose weight and to encourage healthy eating habits. (By appointment only)

Physiotherapy – provided in house and available on NHS

This service is provided to patients referred by their GP. The community physio holds sessions at the practice every Thursday.

This service requires a referral by your GP

Primary care counselling service – Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT)

We have a CBT therapist attached to the practice and holds a session at the practice every Tuesday. You will either get your GP to do a referral or you can self-refer yourself to this service. Please ask at reception for details.

Smoking Cessation Clinic is no longer provided by the practice but you can attend a local pharmacy for this service

Travel health with yellow fever

Travel Clinic By appointment only. If you are travelling abroad we would like you to come in to see the practice nurse SIX WEEKS before your departure date, so that any vaccinations you might need can be given to you (PLEASE NOTE SOME VACCINES CARRY A CHARGE) The Nurses will advise you on immunisations needed for travelling, discuss precautions you need to take to safeguard your health abroad, and the cost of the vaccines needed.
